Terms of Service

Last updated: September 1, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Asserto ("Service", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Asserto is a SaaS platform for automated web application testing. It allows QA engineers and development teams to record, manage, and run browser-based and API tests, and to integrate with tools such as Jira.

2. Accounts and Teams

You must provide accurate information when registering. You are responsible for all activity under your account and all accounts within your organization. Each seat in a subscription plan corresponds to one team member with active access.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Subscription plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; Asserto does not store raw card details. The amount, renewal interval, applicable tax, and available invoice details are shown before you confirm checkout.

  • All prices are listed in USD.
  • Annual plans are billed as a single upfront payment.
  • Adding seats mid-cycle is billed on a prorated basis for the remaining period.
  • Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

4. Free Plan

The Free plan has no expiry and requires no payment method. A paid subscription starts only when an authorized organization owner or billing admin selects a paid plan and confirms payment in secure checkout.

5. Execution allowances and add-ons

Plans state separate monthly allowances for Asserto-hosted browser time and outbound requests issued by API tests. Each started hosted-browser minute is counted for each session, including separate browsers and retries. Each real API-test request is counted, including retries; security-only transport diagnostics are reported separately and are not test execution. Local and customer-hosted execution does not consume hosted-browser minutes. Purchased add-ons extend the stated resource only after payment or another authorized entitlement is confirmed.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to test systems you do not own or have explicit authorization to test.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract the Service's source code or proprietary data.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to harm third parties.
  • Share account credentials across users (each active user requires a seat).

7. Intellectual Property

Asserto and its underlying technology remain the exclusive property of the Service. Your test data, recordings, and configurations remain your property. You grant us a limited license to process and store your data solely to provide the Service.

8. Availability and Support

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. Support is provided via email at [email protected].

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Asserto is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data or business interruption. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data is retained for 30 days and then deleted, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration or the courts of the jurisdiction where the Service operator is established.
